Tijani BOUNAHMIDI is a process engineer in 1977 from the Mohammadia School of Engineers in Rabat. In 1983, he obtained a doctorate in applied sciences from the University of Liège, in process engineering, specializing in "Online computer-assisted process engineering".
Since June 2013, he has been working at the Euro-Mediterranean University of Fez as professor and vice-president. He is developing a research program on renewable energies and energy efficiency, and is currently the coordinator of the Fez Smart Factory project aimed at creating an ecosystem for the development of Industry 4.0 in Morocco.
From 1983 to 2019, he taught and conducted research at the Mohammadia School of Engineers on modeling, simulation, control, optimization and energy integration of industrial processes.
He has authored or co-authored several dozen publications in international indexed journals and is a patent holder.
Professor Bounahmidi has been a resident member of the Hassan II Academy of Sciences and Techniques since 2014, after being a corresponding member since 2006.
In 2006, he received the 1st prize for innovation from the Moroccan Technological Diffusion Network.
He was vice-president of Mohammed V-Agdal-Rabat University from 2005 to 2010
He founded and was director of the Center for Technological Innovation from 2000 to 2006.
He was a member of the national commission which drew up the national research and innovation strategy for 2025 and the 2006-2010 action plan for the national research and innovation system.
